The Musician Magazine
was published by Oliver Ditson in Boston, and was for several years
a close competitor to The Etude Magazine. Its editor
at one time was Thomas Tapper, who subsequently became a senior
member of staff at The Etude. The magazine started in
1896, when it was published by the Hatch Music company, but Ditson
purchased it and merged it with their own, older journal called the
Music Record. It continued publication until 1948.
